At The Sound Dog, every dog is treated as an individual. I provide professional dog walking and pet care services designed around your pet’s personality, routine and needs.
Whether your dog enjoys social group walks, prefers one-to-one attention or needs care while you are away, you can rely on a friendly, personal service from someone who genuinely gets to know them.
There are no employees or contractors, so your pet is always cared for by the same familiar person. Dogs are collected and transported in a dedicated, fully ventilated vehicle with secure individual cages and comfortable, hygienic bedding.
My aim is simple: to give your dog safe, enjoyable exercise and give you complete confidence that they are in caring, dependable hands.
The Sound Dog is run personally by Chris, an experienced and certified dog walker based in Edinburgh. With no employees or contractors, your dog is always cared for by the same familiar and trusted person.
Chris takes the time to understand each dog’s personality, confidence, energy level and routine. This allows walks and pet care to be adapted to what genuinely suits them, whether they enjoy lively group adventures or need a little more individual attention.
Friendly communication, reliable service and the wellbeing of every animal are at the heart of The Sound Dog.
I will collect your dog, go for a one hour group walk (with up to 6 other dogs), then return with your content, exercised and socialised pooch.
Walking times are exclusive of pick-ups/drop-offs and travel time.
If your dog would prefer an individual walk, I can do that too. This is particularly useful for puppies who only require a short walk.
Do you have an appointment at the vet but don’t have the transport? I can pick you and your pet up, take you to the vet, wait until you’re finished and then take you back home.
While you’re away, I can visit your cat or other house pets to provide food, care and affection in the comfort of their own home. I can also water plants, put out bins and help with other small household tasks.
House sitting for dogs is also available, including daytime walks and overnight stays where required.

Marcie absolutely loved her walks with Chris and the other dogs. She was always exhausted when we got home from work meaning we didn’t need to walk her again. We loved getting the photos and updates Chris sent and seeing how much fun she was having.
Chris has been fantastic with our 2 labs, they always have a fantastic time out with him and the other dogs, we love getting the videos and pictures of what they have been up to on their walks. They absolutely adore him. We are very thankful to have had Chris to Lok after our boys.
Chris has been walking our dogs for nearly two years now and they love him and his doggy crew. They are very different dogs, Skye is a timid, slightly nervous lady and Charlie is a boisterous teenager but Chris is great with both of them. They will sit at our front window, waiting to see his van and the excitement and wagging of tails that follows is lovely to see. Chris has a key to our house and we completely trust him with our furbabies!
